NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Level 6

 
 
The recommended entry to the NEBOSH Diploma is by achieving a Level 3 qualification in health and safety. The standards are set by the Employment National Training Organisation (ENTO) and graded by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority as a Degree Level programme.

Tuition is based on the NEBOSH Guide consisting of 241 hours tutorial (40 days) (includes assignment briefing, revision, one to one guidance.). Examinations and Assignments are set and marked by NEBOSH.

Guidance for private study is issued by NEBOSH and should be a minimum of 184 hours incorporating homework questions and directed reading of text books and support material. An outline of the syllabus and topics are set out below. The full teaching schedule will be sent to prospective candidateson request.
 
The syllabus of the Learning Programme is scheduled below:

Unit A Managing Health and Safety
Legal aspects; Management Systems, Loss Causation & Prevention; Risk Assessment & Control; Human and Organisational Factors; Measuring Health and Safety Performance; Emergencies and Disaster Case Studies.
 
Unit B Hazardous Agents in the Workplace
Occupational Health and Hygiene; Toxicology & Epidemiology; Hazardous Substances & Chemicals; Biological & Physical Agents: Noise, Vibration, Radiation, Thermal; Ergonomic and Psycho-Social Agents; Prevention and Control Measures.
 
Unit C Workplace and Work Equipment
Workplace Issues and Equipment; Fire and Explosion/Workplace Precautions; Chemical Process Safety; Machinery and Mechanical Handling; Construction and Demolition; Electrical Safety; Environmental Pollution and Waste Management.
 
Unit CS Communication and Training Skills
Assists candidates in the development of written and oral communications skills which are essential for the completion of reports and training requirements required to complete examinations and assignments for this qualification, and the competent standards required by safety practitioners.
 
Unit D Assignment
Application of Health and Safety theory and practice This is a rigorous and intensive study programme which demands extensive efforts by the students throughout a full academic year on a day release basis. Start dates at both locations are September and January of each year. Examinations are held in July and January. All candidates must be registered with a NEBOSH Accredited Centre, Safety Solutions are Centre Number 240.
 
Course fees are £5500 + VAT to cover tutoring, guidance, support for Unit’s D & CS and other provisions by Safety Solutions shown in the course programme and schedule.

NEBOSH Enrolment Fees and RMS series of text books specifically written for Units A, B and C are non-Vat items at £450 normally payable in advance of commencement of the course.

NEBOSH examination/assignment fees are the only additional charge at £75 per unit, which are payable to NEBOSH by credit card or cheque at time of registration for the unit examination(s) required.
 
Certificates are issued to candidates on achievement of Unit A, B, C and D and Parchment on completion of all units. An awards ceremony takes place each year
 
Our results are among the highest in the UK - 85% of candidates achieving the full qualification in the last three years.
