Disaster & Emergency Management Systems (DEMS)

To provide a strategic overview of the key techniques, methodologies and issues that private and public sector organisations need to identify and act upon in order to prevent or mitigate the probability of human made and industrial disasters. This 10 day course aimed at practitioners and advisors in health & safety, fire services, facilities management, security/counter terrorism, emergency planning, civil protection, the emergency services, nuclear safety, risk management and related fields.

·      Management of Disasters and Emergencies II (DEMS-including writing and developing Emergency Plan, Disaster Plans, Business Continuity Plans and Contingency Plans.)
·      Guidance on Major Incidents: Police/Fire/NHS and Local Government (Integrated Emergency Management.)
·      Psychosocial Factors (PTSD, anxiety, depression, disaster stress, Critical Incident Debriefing etc.)
·      Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and Radiological Disaster & Emergency Management.
·      Epidemics and Pandemics – causes, consequences and management.
·      Food Poisoning.
·      Design and Architecture for Security and Safety.

The course is aimed at those delegates who hold a relevant Level 3 qualification e.g NEBOSH Qualification or NVQ Level 3, IFE etc. Those without such awards may still apply.
