NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management

The NEBOSH National General Certificate qualification has been recognised for many years as an excellent introduction to the fundamentals of occupational health and safety. The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management is designed to provide a similarly sound foundation in environmental management.

The course is ideal for:
        Managers, supervisors and employees based in the UK, who have responsibility for managing environmental issues, as part of their day to day duties. The qualification focuses on UK law and environmental management systems. It also provides a sound basis for progression on to the NEBOSH National Diploma in Environmental Management.
 
Course Content:
It covers the practical issues of managing environmental risk. The syllabus takes a risk management approach based on the best practice and international industry standards including:
·      Environmental Management Systems and Impact Assessments.
·      Sources and use of energy and energy efficiency.
·      Control of pollution.
·      Planning for and dealing with environmental emergencies.
 
The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management consists of two units;
each separately assessed:
·      Management and control of environmental hazards (NEC1)
·      Environmental practical application (NEC2)
 
Course Structure:
NEBOSH require a minimum of 40 taught hours and approximately 37 hours of private study and background reading. Assessment is by on written certificate style paper (NEC1) and a practical component (NEC2).
